About measures for the organization of activities of Institute of botany and Institute of zoology of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan

For the purpose of enhancement and increase in efficiency of scientific research in the field of botany and zoology, preserving biodiversity of plant and animal life of the republic, further development of the separate directions of botany and zoology, proceeding from requirements of modern science and development of industries of economy, and also the accelerated solution of tasks for studying and preserving plant and animal life:

1. Accept the offer of Academy of Sciences, Agency on science and technologies, the Ministries of Finance and the Ministries of Economics of the Republic of Uzbekistan about creation of Institute of botany of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (further - Institute of botany) and Institute of zoology of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan (further - Institute of zoology) based on Institute of botany and zoology of Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

2. Determine the main objectives and activities:

a) Institute of botany:

complex studying of flora of the republic, identification and rational use of vegetable resources, identification of the key botanical territories, development of scientific bases of preserving rare and endemic species of flora;

development and maintaining the national information and analytical database of flora of the republic, maintaining the state inventory by the rare and being under the threat of disappearance types of wild-growing plants, the Red List of the Republic of Uzbekistan and monitoring of flora;

development of theoretical bases of introduction and acclimatization of perspective, economically valuable types of plants, creation of genetic bank of rare plants;

studying of klimatogenny dynamics and evolution of vegetable cover and development of practical recommendations in connection with desertification;

b) Institute of zoology:

complex studying of fauna of the republic, assessment of the current state and development of scientific and practical recommendations about steady use of objects of fauna;
