About restriction of consumption of tobacco products

This Law according to Item 1 of part 1 of article 94 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic determines the legal basis of public health care, promotion of healthy lifestyle, healthy growth and development of children and youth, prevention of addiction to addictions, consumption of tobacco products and activities in the direction of decrease in harmful effects of tobacco smoke on the environment.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.0. The concepts used in this Law designate the following:

1.0.1. tobacco product - the products made of tobacco leaf and its components containing nicotine, active alkaloids including cancerogenic substances and causing addiction to nicotine (cigarettes, cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, pipe tobacco, etc.). All types of hookahs and electronic cigarettes are also equated within this Law to tobacco products;

1.0.2. nicotine - the substance containing in tobacco and pipe tobacco relating to group of alkaloids;

1.0.3. tobacco smoking - the process of consumption of tobacco product causing dependence of organism of the smoker on nicotine as a result of receipt through airways in human body of smoke from tobacco products and doing harm to his health and health of people around, and also polluting the environment;

1.0.4. environmental tobacco smoke - the tobacco smoke containing in atmospheric air of the room in which tobacco smoking including the tobacco smoke exhaled by person performing tobacco smoking is performed or performed earlier;

1.0.5. tobacco consumption - acceptance in organism through airways of vapor resulting from tobacco smoking and also tobacco heatings;

1.0.6. tobacco consumption effects - damnification of life or to health of the person, the circle of its accommodation as a result of consumption of tobacco and impact of environmental tobacco smoke, and also the medical, demographic, social and economic effects connected with it;
