Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Capital of the Republic of Tajikistan

1. According to the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan is the city of Dushanbe.

2. The city of Dushanbe as the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan, is:

- administrative and political, economic, social, scientific and educational and historical and cultural center of the country;

- the administrative and territorial unit having the special state status in which the official residence of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Office of the Founder of the world and national unity – the Leader of the nation are located, the supreme bodies of the government of the Republic of Tajikistan, diplomatic representations of foreign states and representative offices of the international organizations in the Republic of Tajikistan;

- storage location of original copy of the text of the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and place of production of original form of the state symbols of the Republic of Tajikistan.

3. The territory of the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan is the territory of the city of Dushanbe.
