About accreditation of conformity assessment bodies

This Law determines legal, organizational and economic basis of accreditation of conformity assessment bodies in Ukraine.

Section I General provisions

Article 1. Main terms and their determination

In this Law terms are used in such value:

accreditation of conformity assessment bodies (further - accreditation) - certification by national authority of Ukraine on accreditation of the fact that the conformity assessment body meets the requirements of the national standards harmonized with the corresponding international and European standards or to requirements of the international or European standards, and in case of need any additional requirements concerning accreditation in the respective spheres for carrying out certain activities for assessment of conformity;

mutual estimation - process of estimation of national authority on accreditation by national authorities of Ukraine on accreditation of other states which is performed according to the requirements accepted by the international, European and other regional organizations for accreditation which member is the national authority of Ukraine on accreditation;

consultation - provision of consulting services and other help with development and deployment of management systems and procedures of activities of conformity assessment bodies, and also concerning observance of other requirements necessary for their accreditation;

national sign of accreditation - the sign certifying that the organization which uses this sign is accredited by national authority of Ukraine on accreditation;
