About credit unions
The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of creation, activities, reorganization and liquidation of credit unions.
The legislation on credit unions consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about credit unions then are applied rules of the international treaty.
Credit union is the credit institution created by legal entities and physical persons on the basis of voluntary equal membership for the purpose of loan granting and rendering other financial services.
The credit union has the right to open in accordance with the established procedure bank accounts for the territories of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The credit union shall have the round stamp containing its full trade name in state language and specifying of the place of its stay. In seal the trade name in any other language can be at the same time specified.
The trade name of credit union shall contain the phrase "credit union" and not resemble trade names of other credit unions. The legal entity who is not meeting the requirements of this Law having no right to use in the name the phrase "credit union".
The credit union has the right to have stamps, forms with the name and own emblem.
The credit union has no right to be engaged directly in the productive, insurance, trade and intermediary and other activity which is not provided by this Law.
