About introduction of amendments to the Criminal code of Ukraine concerning protection of children from sexual abuses and sexual exploitation

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Bring in the Criminal code of Ukraine (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2001, Art. No. 25-26, 131) the following changes:

Article 155 to state 1) in the following edition:

"Article 155. Sexual connections with person which did not reach sixteen-year age

1. The natural or unnatural sexual connections with person which did not reach sixteen-year age made by full age person

are punished by restriction of freedom for a period of up to five years or imprisonment for the same term.

2. The same actions made by close relatives or family members, person to who obligations on education of the victim or care of it are assigned or if they entailed infertility or other heavy effects,

are punished by imprisonment for a period of five up to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to be engaged in certain activities for a period of up to three years or without that.

Note. In Articles 155, the 156th of this Code it is necessary to understand persons determined by Item of 1 part one of Article 3 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine as close relatives or family members";

Part the second Article 156 to state 2) in the following edition:

"2. The same actions made concerning the juvenile or made by family members or close relatives, person to who obligations on education of the victim or care of it are assigned

are punished by imprisonment for a period of five up to eight years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to be engaged in certain activities for a period of up to three years or without that";

Article 302 to add 3) with part four of the following content:

"4. The actions provided by parts one or the second this Article, made with involvement of the juvenile

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of its publication.
