About fire safety

This Law establishes legal, economic and organizational basis of ensuring fire safety in the Republic of Armenia.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Subject of regulation of the Law

This Law governs the relations of state bodies, local self-government, the organizations, citizens of the Republic of Armenia in the field of ensuring fire safety.

Article 2. Law purposes

The purposes of this Law are:

a) establishment of the main directions of development and implementation of state policy in the field of ensuring fire safety;

b) establishment of the principles of regulation in the field of ensuring fire safety and mechanisms of their implementation;

c) providing population of the Republic of Armenia with high-quality and reliable fire protection.

Article 3. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

a) fire safety - security of the personality, property, society and state from the fires;

b) the fire - the uncontrollable burning doing moral, physical, property harm to the personality, interests of society and state, the endangering health and human life;

c) requirements of fire safety - the special conditions of social and technical nature established for the purpose of ensuring fire safety with the laws and other regulations of the Republic of Armenia;

d) the wrecking connected with fire extinguishing (fire extinguishing) - fighting of fire protection on rescuing of people, property, rendering the first medical assistance by the victim in case of the fire;

e) fire protection - set of forces created in accordance with the established procedure and means of state bodies and local self-government, the organizations, including fire-proof means, for the purpose of the prevention of the fires, their suppression, and also carrying out the related wrecking;

e) measures of fire safety - action for ensuring fire safety, including for fulfillment of requirements of regulating documents on fire safety;
