The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation which further are referred to as with the Parties

wishing to promote further development and deepening of cooperation between two states in the field of health care, medical education and science,

based on provisions of the Contract on strategic partnership between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation of June 16, 2004 and the Agreement on the allied relations between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation of November 14, 2005,

realizing feasibility of combination of efforts of both states in the solution of number of problems in the field of health care, the medical education and science which are of mutual interest

recognizing that the cooperation in the field of health care, medical education and science will make contribution to strengthening of friendly relations between two states,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties develop cooperation in the field of health care, medical education and science, realize measures for ensuring sanitary and epidemiologic wellbeing of the population on the basis of the principles of equality, accounting of mutual interests and according to the legislation of the states of the Parties.

Article 2

The parties encourage and support direct contacts between the Russian and Uzbek organizations in the field of health care, medical education and science.

Article 3

The parties perform cooperation on topical issues in the field of health care, medical education and science in the following directions:

the organization of national health care system and management of activities in the field of health care;

the diseases constituting danger to people around including tuberculosis, the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (HIV infection) and other diseases;
