About cooperation in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations

The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Azerbaijan Republic which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties

aiming to strengthen the traditional friendly relations between two people,

recognizing that the cooperation in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations will help welfare and homeland security of the states of the Parties,

understanding danger which is born for the states of the Parties by emergency situations of natural and technogenic nature,

considering advantage for the states of the Parties of exchange of scientific technical information in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,

in view of possibility of emergency situations which cannot be liquidated by forces and means of one of the Parties, and the need for the coordinated actions of both states for the purpose of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,

considering role of the United Nations and other international organizations in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,

agreed as follows:

Article 1 of Determination

The terms used in this agreement have the following values:

"the requesting Party" - the Party which appeals to other Party about the direction of groups on assistance, equipment and materials of providing;

"the providing Party" - the Party which grants request of other Party for the direction of groups on assistance, equipment and materials of providing;

"competent authority" - the state body appointed by each of the Parties for management and coordination of the works connected with implementation of this agreement;

"group on assistance" - the organized group of specialists of the providing Party intended for assistance and provided with the necessary equipment sufficient for conducting actions in zone of emergency situation;
