Chapter I General provisions

Article 1. Purpose and sphere of regulation of the law

(1) This law determines the legal basis of organization of the Investing program in the field of production of movies and other audiovisual works.

(2) This law installs the transparent Investing program in the field of production of movies and other audiovisual works (further - the Investing program) intended for stimulation of foreign investments in full or partial production of movies and other audiovisual works. The investing program is applied in the territory of the Republic of Moldova.

(3) Provisions of this law regulate conditions and the procedure of providing financial support according to the purpose and tasks specified in parts (4) and (5), and also accounting about use of the budgetary appropriations enclosed in production of movies and other audiovisual works.

(4) the Purpose of the Investing program is attraction to the Republic of Moldova of foreign production - complete or partial - movies, television movies and series, animation movies and series, and also other audiovisual works.

(5) the Main tasks of this law are:

a) attraction of foreign investments in the full or partial production of movies and other audiovisual works performed in the territory of the Republic of Moldova;

b) promotion of national cultural identity by implementation of production of movies and other audiovisual works;

c) development of production of movies and other audiovisual works as component of national culture by rendering financial support by the state;

d) development of the European and international cooperation in the field of cinematography and TV and radio broadcasting;

e) establishment of procedure and the procedure of implementation of the Investing program in the field of production of movies and other audiovisual works in the territory of the Republic of Moldova;
