About cooperation in the field of safety and counteraction of crime

The Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan which are hereinafter referred to as by the Parties

considering the friendly relations between two countries,

realizing importance of expansion of bilateral and multilateral international cooperation on safety issues and fight against crime,

recognizing national interests in safety of two countries,

on the basis of respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and non-interference to internal affairs of both countries, and also observance and protection of the rights of citizens of two countries,

being guided by national legal systems of the Parties and international treaties which participants are the Parties,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties perform mutually beneficial cooperation for the purpose of safety and counteraction of crime in the following directions:

a) the prevention of threats against the constitutional system, legitimate authority and territorial integrity of two countries;

b) counteraction to terrorism, extremism and their financing;

c) counteraction of the subversive activities of the terrorist and extremist organizations directed against safety of the Parties from the territory of the third countries;

d) counteraction of prospecting subversive activities of intelligence agencies and organizations of foreign states concerning the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan;

e) the prevention of production and arms trafficking and ammunition, explosives, weapons of mass destruction, especially nuclear and radioactive, chemical and biological, and also technologies for their production;

e) counteraction to drug trafficking, psychotropic substances and their precursors, illegal migration, human trafficking and their bodies, and also to other types of exploitation of the person;

g) the prevention and fight against crime against use of information technologies and cybercrime, and also determination and prohibition of activities of the websites which distribute information against national interests of the Parties;
