About introduction of amendments to the Criminal code of the Republic of Moldova No. 985/2002

The Parliament adopts this organic law.

Single Article. - In the Criminal code of the Republic of Moldova No. 958/2002 (repeated publication: The official monitor of the Republic of Moldova, 2009, Art. No. 72-74, 195), with subsequent changes to make the following changes:

2. State Article 150 in the following edition:

"Article 150. Bringing to suicide or assistance to suicide making

(2) the Actions provided by part (1), made in the relation:

a) obviously minor;

b) person which is in material or other dependence on the guilty person are punished by imprisonment for a period of 5 up to 9 years.

(3) the Actions provided by part (1), made in the relation:

a) the minor aged up to 14 years;

b) two or more persons, are punished by imprisonment for a period of 9 up to 12 years.

(4) If the actions provided by parts (1) - (3), led to suicide attempt, the lowest limit of punishment is cut by half.

3. Add the code with Article 150-1 of the following content:

"Article 150-1. Public justification of suicide

The public justification of suicide, that is distribution or provision of the public of information on suicide recognition correct, worthy imitations or the act needing support, is punished by unpaid work for benefit of society for a period of 180 till 240 o'clock or imprisonment for a period of up to 4 years.".
