The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan which further are referred to as with the Parties

aiming at development and strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of the higher education and science,

convinced that the cooperation in the field of the higher education and science promotes deepening of bonds and the best mutual understanding between two states,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will expand cooperation in different areas of the higher education and science, in particular between higher educational institutions and research establishments, the faculty and scientists.

Article 2

The parties will cooperate in the following directions:

a) establishment of direct cooperation between higher educational institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Tajikistan;

b) exchange of the faculty, graduate students (job seekers) and students;

c) mutual participation of students of both countries in educational and scientific activities;

d) exchange of training, scientific and methodical materials in the field of the highest and post-qualifying education;

e) holding joint scientific conferences, symposiums, the Olympic Games and tenders for pupils and students of higher educational institutions;

e) the publication of Articles in scientific magazines and other editions of two countries;

g) joint participation in work of the commissions and specialized councils on protection of theses and theses;

h) other mutually acceptable directions of cooperation.

Article 3

The parties develop cooperation in the field of preparation, retraining and advanced training of teachers and specialists, research and educational personnel, and also carrying out joint scientific research for which realization direct contracts between the interested organizations of the states of the Parties can be signed.
