About cooperation in the field of the prevention of emergency situations and liquidation of their effects
The government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan which are hereinafter referred to as with the Parties
being guided by provisions of the Treaty of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan of January 16, 1996,
aiming at strengthening of traditionally friendly relations between the people of the states, every possible development of the interstate relations and full cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan,
recognizing that the cooperation in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations will help welfare and safety of both states,
understanding danger which is born for both countries by emergency situations of natural, technogenic and ecological nature,
considering that exchange of scientific and technical information in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations is of mutual interest,
proceeding from the interdependence of ecological systems of both countries requiring carrying out coordinated policy according to the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, and also the organization of monitoring of the environment
in view of possibility of emergency situations which cannot be liquidated by forces and means of one of the states of the Parties, and the need for the coordinated actions of both states for the purpose of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,
being convinced of the imperative need of strengthening of cooperation between the states in development and acceptance of effective, practical measures for the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,
supporting efforts of the United Nations and other international organizations in the field of the prevention and liquidation of emergency situations,
agreed as follows:
