About mutual understanding

The Ministry of economic development and trade of Ukraine and the National center of intellectual property of the Republic of Belarus (further - the Parties),

wishing to promote development of sci-tech cooperation between Ukraine and the Republic of Belarus,

attaching importance to legal protection of intellectual property rights, including results of scientific and technical activities,

wishing to develop the relations between both Parties on the basis of mutual advantage and the principles of equality, considering need of creating favorable conditions for protection and protection of intellectual property rights,

in view of mutual interest concerning enhancement and cooperation increase which would allow to adjust experience exchange in the field of intellectual property,

agreed about the following:

1. Purpose

The purpose of this Memorandum is creation of mechanisms of cooperation for assistance to implementation of measures for legal protection of intellectual property on the basis of mutual advantage, equality and respect for international agreements which participants are the states of both Parties.

2. Coverage

This Memorandum includes such directions of cooperation in the field of protection of intellectual property rights:

a) exchange of information about the legislation in the field of intellectual property, its practical application, tendencies of its development and change of the legislation in this sphere;

b) exchange of information and experience in the relation of procedures of provision of legal protection to objects of intellectual property right, in particular, in the field of patent search and practice of conducting examination;

c) exchange of the patent information, documents and publications in the field of protection of intellectual property rights;

d) experience exchange in process control of examination and the organization of computer-assisted retrieval;

e) training and advanced training of specialists by holding training and educational the practician;
