Article 1. "About geodesy and cartography" (further - the Law) to state article 1 of the Law of the Republic of Armenia of May 2, 2001 to ZR-179 in the following edition:

"Article 1. The basic concepts used in the Law

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

geodesy - the sphere of the relations arising in the course of the scientific, technical and productive activity connected with determination of form, the sizes, the gravimetric field, coordinates of points of the Earth's surface;

geodetic and cartographic activities - scientific, technical and productive activity in the field of geodesy and cartography, activities for rendering services in the field of geodesy and cartography;

geodetic Item - structure which on the area places points of physical surface of the globe with the determined coordinates and heights;

geodetic network - set of the geodetic Items interconnected with each other;

geodetic and cartographic works - process of creation of geodetic and cartographic materials and data, and also products;

remote sensing of the globe - process of data acquisition about the Earth's surface by shooting from space;

system of coordinates - mathematical rules of reference of coordinates to points of physical surface of the globe;

scale - the proportion establishing (approving) ratio of the linear sizes of object expressed on the cartographic image with its actual sizes in the nature;

large-scale row - exact system of certain scales of topographic maps and plans of the state large-scale row accepted for the Republic of Armenia;

local coordinate system - the conditional coordinate system installed for the limited territory which is not exceeding administrative and territorial unit of the Republic of Armenia, the beginning of coordinates and which determination of coordinate axes are rejected from single state coordinate system which is applied when implementing geodetic and cartographic works;
