Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. The main terms used in this Law and their determinations

In this Law the following main terms and their determinations are used:

hydrometeorological safety - condition of security of life and (or) health of physical persons, interests of society and state from impact of the dangerous and (or) adverse hydrometeorological phenomena, climate changes;

hydrometeorological activities - the activities in the field of meteorology, hydrology and areas, adjacent to them, directed to production, provision, distribution of hydrometeorological information, and also work on active impact on meteorological and other geophysical processes;

hydrometeorological information - primary hydrometeorological data, weather forecast and other information which is analysis result of primary hydrometeorological data;

hydrometeorological observations - tool measurements, observations, including visual, behind condition of separate components of the environment for the purpose of assessment and the forecast of their meteorological, hydrological, climatic characteristics and parameters, and also behind the hydrometeorological phenomena;

hydrometeorological objects - the posts, the stations, the centers including entering them stationary and mobile Items of hydrometeorological observations, intended for the implementation of hydrometeorological activities, its separate types or separate works and (or) services constituting production of hydrometeorological information;

the hydrometeorological phenomenon - form of manifestation of the processes happening in the atmosphere on the Earth's surface, in surface water;
