About grapes and grape wine

This Law governs the legal relations in the field of wine growing and winemaking of Ukraine connected with maintaining vineyards and production of grapes, wine and other products of winemaking determines regulation and control in these industries of production, the right and obligation of producers, powers of executive bodies and is directed to strengthening of fight against falsification of wine-making products in Ukraine.

Operation of this Law extends on legal entities and physical person which economic activity includes production, realization, export and import of products to industries of wine growing and winemaking. Operation of this Law does not extend to the producers of grapes and domestic wine intended for own consumption.

Section I General provisions

Article 1. Determination of the main terms

In this Law terms are used in the following value:

1) vinogradarsko-wine-making industry - set of the companies, organizations, the research establishments occupied in the field of production of grapes, production and realization of wine-making products;

2) wine growing - set of organizational and processing methods of reproduction, cultivation and vintage;

3) winemaking - set of organizational and processing methods of production of wine-making products;

4) vineyards - industrial plantings of grapes for winemaking on the area of more 0,5 of hectare;

5) izrezhennost of vineyards - percentage of nonexistent bushes to their nominal (settlement) quantity on this square;

6) table grades of grapes - grapes grades which are grown up for the fresh use;

7) technical grades of grapes - the grapes grades intended for production of wine-making products;

8) hybrids direct producers - grades of grapes of the first generation from crossing of grades of type of Vitis vinifera with other types of grapes of the sort Vitis: Zeybel, Terraces, Bako, Kastel, Kuderk, Othello, Zhakez, Clinton, Erbemon;
