About additional measures for safety of bus transportations of passengers

For the expired period in the republic the complex of the organizational practical measures aimed at safety of all participants of traffic in which special attention is paid to reducing number of the road accidents is realized.

At the same time, against the background of development of tourist industry of the country number of the gaps which are negatively affecting quality of the undertaken reforms in the field of enhancement of procedure for transportation of passengers by buses, especially regarding ensuring their safety on roads is observed.

According to the Concept of safety of traffic in the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2018 - 2022, for the purpose of ensuring full execution of safety requirements of passengers, with road transport the Cabinet of Ministers decides non-admissions of the road accidents when implementing passenger traffic:

1. Establish since September 1, 2019 procedure according to which:

transportation of passengers by buses on interregional, long-distance, international routes and the tourist directions (further - routes) at night, and also groups of children, pupils of comprehensive schools and average special educational institutions is performed only accompanied by law-enforcement bodies with use of specially equipped official cars;

escort of buses by law-enforcement bodies is performed by divisions of Public service of traffic safety and divisions on ensuring safe tourism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan on paid basis according to the procedure of provision of the state services or the conclusion of agreements;

the buses accompanied with law-enforcement bodies undergo obligatory testing of technical condition just before departure for route with creation of the relevant act by the staff of Public service of traffic safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan;

the obligation of the licensee on providing buses with control units of fatigue of the driver is provided in license agreements on implementation of transportation of passengers by buses along routes;
