Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

- workmanship - the manual production performed by the handicraftsman of the house or at small enterprise for production, processings and productions of goods, products of household purpose and souvenirs;

- the handicraftsman - the physical person having skills, skill, knowledge and (or) professional specialization, occupied with workmanship;

- the pupil probationer - the physical person studying craft profession at the handicraftsman or in educational institution;

- the register of workmanship - set of information, containing information about subjects of workmanship.

Article 2. Legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on workmanship

The legislation of the Republic of Tajikistan on workmanship is based on the Constitution of the Republic of Tajikistan and consists of this Law, other regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan, and also the international legal acts recognized by Tajikistan.

Article 3. Main objectives of this Law

The main objectives of this Law are:

- revival, protection, development and promotion of historical and ancient traditions of art of workmanship, national culture and heritage;

- creating favorable conditions for workmanship development;

- development of production capabilities of workmanship;

- training of specialists in the field of workmanship;
