The Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine which are referred to as further "High contracting parties"

being guided by the Treaty of friendship and further deepening of full cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine of February 19, 1998, and also other bilateral documents,

proceeding from need of further strengthening and development mutually advantageous trade and economic and relations of production, giving to them of long-term and stable nature, effective use of economic and scientific and technical capacity of both states and growth in prosperity, their people,

attaching importance to creation of conditions for phased transition to free movement of goods, services, the capitals and labor power,

being guided by the universally recognized norms and the principles of international law,

agreed as follows:

Article 1.

High contracting parties realize the Program of economic cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and Ukraine for 1999-2008 (further - the Program) which is integral part of this Agreement.

Article 2.

Economic cooperation of High contracting parties is performed on the principles of the long-term partnership which is equitable to strategic interests of both Parties by interaction between business entities irrespective of forms of their property, with respect for the universally recognized norms of the international national legal system.

High contracting parties provide favorable conditions for carrying out consultation but coordination and harmonization of regulatory framework in the field of foreign economic activity, (forming of separate projects and programs, promote cooperation development, formation of general production structures, mutual participation in privatization and investment projects according to national legal systems.

High contracting parties abstain from the actions causing damage to interests of economy of other Party.
