About entering of amendments and changes into the Water code of the Republic of Armenia

Article 1. To add article 1 of the Water code of the Republic of Armenia of June 4, 2002 (further - the Code) with new paragraphs of the following content:

"drought - the complex of meteorological factors with high temperature of air with long lack of rainfall at the same time with decrease in humidity leading to violation of water balance of plants and their destruction;

lack of water - situation as a result of which conditions of ensuring demand for water resources worsen. It is established, based on quantity of atmospheric precipitation in this hydrological year, inventory of the snow which accumulated in winter months, the air temperature and when, according to long-term observations, security of average exits of water of river basins for the corresponding period exceeds percent 66,7.".

Article 2. To state Item 1 of part 1 of article 30.2 of the Code in the following edition:

"1) from coming into force of the decision of the Government on lack of water or drought in all territory of the Republic of Armenia or on its part, taking into account ensuring priority of water use;".

Article 3. In article 92 of the Code:

Shall be replaced with words 1) in heading and part 2 of the word "lack of water and drought" in the corresponding case forms "lack of water or drought";

Part 1 to state 2) in the following edition:

"On the basis of official information on lack of water or the drought provided by authorized state body in the field of hydrometeorological activities as a result of the meteorological analysis on the offer of authorized body on management and protection of the water Government resources makes the decision on the announcement of lack of water or drought in all territory of the Republic of Armenia or on its part.".

Article 4. This Law becomes effective for the tenth day after its official publication.
