Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of this Law

The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of patronage.

Article 2. Legislation on patronage

The legislation on patronage consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about patronage then are applied rules of the international treaty.

Article 3. Scope of this Law

Operation of this Law extends to the relations arising when implementing charity for the purpose of cultural development and art.

Article 4. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:

patronage (philanthropic activities) - the charity performed by physical persons and legal entities in the field of culture and art, and also science, education, education and other activities connected with cultural development and arts;

the patron - the physical person or legal entity performing philanthropic activities;

the receiver of philanthropic support - the physical person or legal entity performing the activities connected with preserving and cultural development and arts due to philanthropic support;

philanthropic support - the property transferred to receivers of philanthropic support, and also the works performed for them, the rendered services and other types of support by patrons within philanthropic activities on a grant basis or preferential terms.
