The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of breastfeeding support, and also ensuring compliance with the established requirements to food for babies and children of early age.
The legislation on support of breastfeeding and requirements to food for babies and children of early age consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about support of breastfeeding and requirements to food for babies and children of early age then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
the baby - the child aged up to one year;
food for babies and children of early age - the foodstuff meeting physiological features and requirements of organism of babies and children of early age;
children of early age are children aged from one year up to three years;
products substitutes of breast milk - the food for babies and children of early age replacing breast milk;
artificial feeding - feeding of babies and children of early age products substitutes of breast milk;
feeding up products - the foodstuff entered into diet of babies and children of early age in the recommended terms as amendment to breast milk, products substitutes of breast milk made taking into account age physiological features.
