The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of science and scientific activities.
The legislation on science and scientific activities consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about science and scientific activities then are applied rules of the international treaty.
The basic principles of the sphere of science and scientific activities are:
freedom of scientific creativity and information;
efficiency and creative competition;
interest and stimulation;
objectivity of scientific examination;
not damnification of life and to health of the person, surrounding environment.
The main directions of the sphere of science and scientific activities are:
achievement of competitiveness and efficiency of national economy by means of development of science and scientific activities;
determination of the priority directions of development of science and technologies and target direction of resources;
development of the state scientific programs, support of reasonable initiatives and projects;
support of public-private partnership in the field of science and scientific activities;
forming of the circle of tendency to science and its attractiveness, involvement of youth to scientific activities, preparation of young talents;
