About entering of amendment into the Criminal code of the Republic of Armenia

Article 1. To add the criminal code of the Republic of Armenia of April 18, 2003 with Article 258.2 of the following content:

"Article 258.2. Animal abuse

1. Animal abuse, namely - interruption of life of animal by suffocation, hangings, partitions, strong blow, steganiye whip, shot from firearms, poisoning or introduction to it such substance which leads to cruel and painful death, deletings of skin, amputation of body, throwing in fire, from height or from vehicles, the organization and conducting fights of animals, and also conducting scientific and educational animal experiments with violation of established procedure and other types of ill treatment:

it is punished by penalty in the amount of hundredfold to the three hundredfold size of minimum wage, either arrest from one to three months, or imprisonment for up to one year.

2. Same act, committed:

1) group of persons by previous concert;

2) with special cruelty;

3) in the presence of the juvenile child;

4) concerning two or more animals:

it is punished by penalty in the amount of three hundredfold to the five hundredfold size of minimum wage, or imprisonment from one to three years.".

Article 2. This Law becomes effective next day after its official publication.
