About psychological services

This Law determines legal and organizational basis of the relations connected with psychological services.

Chapter I. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) the psychologist – the specialist with the higher psychological education or had additional professional training in the field of psychology based on higher education;

2) psychological service – the service provided by the psychologist to the receiver of psychological service;

3) the receiver of psychological service – person or group of persons who addressed the psychologist for rendering psychological service or to which it appears;

4) psychological problem – the state of mind of the person connected with dissatisfaction with, the professional activity, the interpersonal relations, situation in family, collective or other circumstances of life.

Article 2. Legislation of Turkmenistan on psychological services

The legislation of Turkmenistan on psychological services is based on the Constitution of Turkmenistan and consists of this Law and other regulatory legal acts of Turkmenistan governing the relations arising in the field of psychological services.

Article 3. Coverage of this Law

Operation of this Law extends to citizens of Turkmenistan, and also to foreign citizens and persons without citizenship if other is not established by the legislation of Turkmenistan.

Article 4. The basic principles of activities in the field of psychological services

The basic principles of activities in the field of psychological services are:

1) respect of advantage, rights and personal freedoms;

2) voluntariness;

3) impartiality;

4) honesty;

5) targeting;

6) complexity of rendering psychological service;

7) competence;

8) confidentiality;

9) responsibility.
