About geodesy and cartography

This Law establishes the legal basis of activities in the field of geodesy and cartography and is directed to creation of conditions for requirements satisfaction of the state, physical persons and legal entities in geodetic and cartographic products.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

- geodesy - the science studying form and the sizes of the Earth's surface or its separate parts by measurements, shooting, and also their processings, development of cards, plans and profiles and methods of use of these results and materials in case of the solution of engineering, economic and other needs;

- cartography - the scientific, technical and productive activity directed to development, studying, adjustment and updating of kartomaterial and use of these materials for the different purposes;

- geodetic and cartographic activities - scientific, technical and productive activity on management and accomplishment of geodetic and cartographic works;

- geodetic and cartographic fund - the code (set) of the materials and information developed, modified and updated in case of geodetic and cartographic activities and kept for further use;

- cartographic products - materials, on which nacherchena small sites of the area to the general Earth's surface which characteristic allows to determine length of the parties, the area, height, coordinates of points, and also interrelation, features and the actual arrangement of these objects;

- geodetic products - result of geodetic, astronomo-geodetic, gravimetric and leveling measurements;

- geodetic Items - point of the land surface which location is determined in the known system of planned koordinat by geodetic measurements;

- astronomo-geodetic Item point of the land surface which coordinates are determined by geodetic measurements and astronomical observations;
