The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of population census.
The legislation on population census consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.
If the international treaty of the Republic of Uzbekistan establishes other rules, than those which are stipulated by the legislation the Republic of Uzbekistan about population census then are applied rules of the international treaty.
In this Law the following basic concepts are applied:
population census - the periodic process of collection and processing of the personal data determining demographic and social and economic characteristics of the population for the established date, which is carried out in all territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan or in its certain territories;
date of population census - the specific moment (year, month, day and hour) on which are performed data collection about the population and their accounting;
respondents are the citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, foreign citizens and stateless persons which are for date of population census in the territory of the Republic of Uzbekistan, citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan, it is permanent living in it, but for date of population census being beyond its limits;
the schedule - the form of the established form for record of personal data on the specified questions;
census documentation - set of the documents concerning process of preparation for population census and its carrying out;
census personnel - the full age citizens of the Republic of Uzbekistan involved in preparation for population census and its carrying out, who underwent special training;
