About modification and amendments in the Constitutional law "About the Defender of Human Rights"

Accepted by National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on January 21, 2020

Article 1. "About the defender of human rights" (further - the Law) to state article 1 of the Constitutional law of December 16, 2016 to No. ZR-1 in the following edition:

"1. This Constitutional law establishes powers, procedure for activities and guarantee of the Defender of human rights of the Republic of Armenia (further - the Defender), procedure for election and termination of powers of the Defender, feature of legal status and civil service of persons holding positions in the Defender's device.".

Article 2. To state part 5 of article 29 of the Law in the following edition:

"5. Occupational retrainings of the device and educational programs for human rights are performed by the Defender by means of the relevant division of its device or other institution. The defender can also perform retrainings of bodies and organizations beneficiaries for the questions concerning human rights and freedoms.".

Article 3. In Chapter 7 of the Law of the word of "Public service" shall be replaced with words "Civil service".

Article 4. In article 34 of the Law:

"Article 34. Civil service in the Defender's device";

Part 1 to state 2) in the following edition:

"The service in the device of the Defender is civil service which is regulated by the Law "About Civil Service" if this Law does not provide features.";

"4. Civil service in the device of the Defender activities of the experts involved with the Defender, specialists and persons performing maintenance and other separate tasks and functions on contractual basis are not considered.".

Article 5. To recognize article 35 of the Law invalid.
