Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of the Law on space activities

The purpose of the Law is economic, scientific, technology development of the Republic of Armenia in the field of space activities, safety strengthening, expansion of international cooperation of the Republic of Armenia.

Article 2. Subject of regulation of the Law

1. This Law governs the relations connected with the organization and implementation of space activities in the Republic of Armenia.

Article 3. Legal regulation of the relations in the field of space activities

1. The relations in the field of space activities are governed by the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia, this Law, international treaties of the Republic of Armenia and other regulatory legal acts.

Article 4. The basic concepts used in the Law

1. In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

1) space activities - production, repair, upgrade, alienation of space objects and (or) the equipment, implementation of researches and (or) testing with use of the space equipment, acceptance and processing of satellite data on remote sensing of the earth, start of space objects, management of them during landing time and flight, creation and operation of space infrastructures;

2) space object - each equipment which is in space or started in space, and its components;

3) the space equipment - the equipment starting space objects in space, and its components, the equipment provided for management of space objects in space and its components;

4) the operating person - the legal entity performing space activities;

5) space infrastructure - the interconnected constructions, structures and (or) objects which are used only for the purpose of ensuring space activities;
