About modification of some legal acts of Ukraine concerning providing equal opportunities of mother and the father in child care

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. Make changes to the following legal acts of Ukraine:

1. In the Labor code of Ukraine (The sheet of the Verkhovna Rada of USSR, 1971, appendix to No. 50, the Art. 375):

Part the fourth Article 51 to state 1) in the following edition:

"The reduced duration of working hours can be established at the expense of own means of the companies, organizations, the organizations for workers who have children age up to fourteen years or the child with disability, and also for lonely mothers and fathers who bring up the child without father (mother), including in case of long stay of mother in medical institution";

To add 2) with Article 77-3 of the following content:

"Article 77-3. Leave in case of the child's birth

The one-time paid leave in case of the birth of the child lasting up to 14 calendar days (without festive and non-working days) is provided to workers, namely:

1) to the husband whose wife gave birth to the child;

2) to the child's father who is not consisting in the registered marriage with the child's mother provided that they jointly live, are connected by general life, have the mutual rights and obligations;

3) to the grandmother or the grandfather, or other full age relative of the child who are actually performing child care, mother or the father of which is lonely mother (the lonely father).

Leave in case of the birth of the child is granted only to one of persons specified in part one of this Article.

Leave in case of the birth of the child is granted according to the procedure, established by the Law of Ukraine "About leaves";

3) in Article 179:

in word part three "women to it" shall be replaced with words "mother or the child's father to one of them";

in part four to "women" shall be replaced with words the word to "one of the child's parents";

in part six to "woman" shall be replaced with words the word to "one of the child's parents";
