MEMORANDUM

About mutual understanding between the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) having the headquarters in Moscow, Russia, and to Almaty, Kazakhstan, and the World Customs Organization (WCO) *, having the headquarters in Brussels, Belgium

The Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) and the World Customs Organization (WCO) which hereinafter are referred to as with the Parties

recognizing desire of the Parties to establish and develop the cooperation based on mutual support

proceeding from the aspiration to create the corresponding mechanism of such cooperation,

agreed as follows:

Article 1

The parties will cooperate in accomplishment of the obligations according to Memorandum provisions.

For the purposes of this Memorandum any reference to EurAsEC or the WTO (if not directly on the Secretariat of Integration Committee of EurAsEC or the Secretariat of the WTO) is understood as the reference to decision making authorities of EurAsEC and the WTO, respectively.

Article 2

The parties agreed if necessary:

- to systematically hold consultations and seminars on the questions which are of mutual interest;

- invite each other to meetings and other actions according to regulations of their carrying out for experience exchange;

- exchange open information and documents.

Article 3

The parties agreed to promote actively enhancement of activities of customs administrations in the territory of state members of EurAsEC in acceptance and implementation in the field of customs affairs of the tools and mechanisms developed or recommended to the WTO.

The WTO, within the available resources, will provide EurAsEC of experts for assistance in development of Bases of customs legislations of state members of EurAsEC, and also other laws and regulatory legal acts for their reduction in compliance with international standards and practice of the WTO.

Article 4

In case of opportunity the Secretariat of Integration Committee of EurAsEC and the Secretariat of the WTO will coordinate joint activities for the directions which are of mutual interest.
