About multimodal transportations

This Law determines legal and organizational basis of multimodal transportations and is directed to creation of conditions for their development and enhancement, encouragement of use of more environmentally friendly modes of transport for the purpose of environmental protection, mitigation of climate change and overconsumption of energy.

Article 1. Determination of terms

1. In this Law the stated below terms are used in such value:

internal multimodal transportation - multimodal transportation without crossing of frontier of Ukraine;

the agreement of multimodal transportation – the contract between the operator of multimodal transportations and the customer of service of multimodal transportation for provision of service of multimodal transportation;

the document of multimodal transportation of goods - the carriage document (the way bill, the bill of lading, etc.) confirming the conclusion of the agreement of multimodal transportation and acceptance of load under responsibility with the operator of multimodal transportation from the customer who is drawn up by the operator of multimodal transportation and which performs cargo hauling;

the single carriage document - the document of multimodal transportation of goods of the established form on which multimodal cargo hauling on all route of multimodal transportation can be performed;

the customer of service of multimodal transportation - physical person or legal entity which under the agreement of multimodal transportation independently or through the representative acting from his name orders to the operator of multimodal transportation provision of service of multimodal transportation;

combined transport of loads - multimodal transportation of goods by the same transport unit without transhipment of cargo when changing mode of transport where the most part of route is the share of sea, river or rail transport, and route piece road transport is the shortest;

route of multimodal transportation - the way of cargo hauling defined by the agreement of multimodal transportation;

the international multimodal delivery - multimodal transportation with crossing of frontier of Ukraine;
