This Law is adopted for the purpose of preserving memory of millions of Soviet citizens who became the victims in days of the Great Patriotic War and post war period *, according to the Constitution of the Republic of Belarus, and also on the basis of the Convention on the prevention of crime of genocide and punishment for it of December 9, 1948, the Convention on inapplicability of prescriptive limit to war crimes and crimes against humanity of November 26, 1968 and also post war period is aimed at legislative providing protection of fundamental values of the Belarusian people, establishment of efficient barriers on the way of attempts of falsification of events and results of World War II, giving fair assessment to crimes of Nazi criminals and their helpers, nationalist forming in days of the Great Patriotic War.
Article 1. Made by Nazi criminals and their helpers, nationalist forming in days of the Great Patriotic War and post war period of crime, directed to systematic physical extermination of the Belarusian people ** by murder and other actions recognized by genocide according to legal acts and rules of international law are genocide of the Belarusian people.

** The Belarusian people for the purposes of this Article are understood as the Soviet citizens living in the territory of the Belarusian Soviet Socialist Republic in days of the Great Patriotic War and (or) post war period.
Article 2. Add the Criminal code of the Republic of Belarus of July 9, 1999 with Article 130-2 of the following content:
