This Law determines organizational, legal and economic basis of activities of business entities in poultry-farming industry and is aimed at the development of industry and ensuring the consumable market of the country.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

In this Law the following basic concepts are used:

- poultry-farming industry - the agricultural industry providing production of fowl, food, incubatory eggs and other types of products;

- business entity in poultry-farming industry the business entity who is engaged in production of fowl, food and incubatory eggs, removal of chickens, and also storage and sales of products of industry;

- birds - group of the vertebrate warm-blooded oviparous feathery animals constituting separate class of fauna;

- agricultural birds - all bird species divorced for the purpose of production of meat, table and incubatory eggs and other types of products;

- hybrid birds are the birds resulting from cross-breeding of the birds having features and hereditary or maternal signs;

- breed of bird - the intraspecific complex and numerous groups of one type of agricultural bird having similar qualities of performance, structure and appearance;

- cross-country - complex of lines and hybrids of the agricultural birds appearing within certain procedure for crossing, the having high productivity and resistance to life;

- incubatory egg - the inseminated egg used for removal of chickens;

- products of poultry-farming industry - the main products - fowl, eggs, young growth and additional products - waste from face of bird, down, feathers and fertilizer.
