About modification of some legal acts of Ukraine concerning strengthening of criminal liability for production and distribution of the prohibited information products

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

I. Make changes to the following legal acts of Ukraine:

1. Bring in the Criminal code of Ukraine (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2001, Art. No. 25-26, 131) the following changes:

1) in Article 161:

"Article 161. Violation of equality of citizens depending on their racial, national, regional identity, religious beliefs, disability and on other signs

The intentional actions directed to incitement of race, regional, racial or religious strife and hatred, to humiliation of national honor and advantage or insult of feelings of citizens in connection with their religious beliefs and also direct or indirect restriction of the rights or establishment of direct or indirect privileges of citizens on signs of race, skin color, political, religious and other convictions, floor, disability, ethnic and social origin, property condition, residence, on language or other signs

are punished by penalty from two hundred to five hundred free minima income of citizens or restriction of freedom for a period of up to five years, or imprisonment for a period of up to three years with deprivation of the right to hold certain positions or to be engaged in certain activities for a period of up to three years or without that";

add with the note of the following content:

"Note. In this Article it is necessary to understand accessory of person on the birth or accommodation to the region as regional accessory - parts of the territory of Ukraine or the territory of compact resettlement of Ukrainians outside the territory of Ukraine, - different from other territories on number of historical, geographical, language and other signs";
