I. General provisions

Article 1. Purpose of this Law

The purpose of this Law is regulation of the relations in the field of preparation of drafts of the laws and their entering into Legislative house of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan (further - Legislative house).

Article 2. Legislation on procedure for preparation of drafts of the laws and their entering into Legislative house

The legislation on procedure for preparation of drafts of the laws and their entering into Legislative house consists of this Law and other acts of the legislation.

Article 3. Persons of law of the legislative initiative

According to the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan the power to initiate legislation belongs to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Karakalpakstan on behalf of the supreme representative body of the government, to deputies of Legislative house, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The power to initiate legislation belongs to also Constitutional court, the Supreme Court and the Attorney-General of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the questions carried to their maintaining.
Article 4. Realization of power to initiate legislation

The power to initiate legislation is exercised by means of entering of the bill by persons of law of the legislative initiative into Legislative house.
