About tourism

This Law according to Item 1 of part I of article 94 of the Constitution of the Azerbaijan Republic determines for the purpose of ensuring sustainable development of tourism in the Azerbaijan Republic bases of public administration in the field of tourism, mechanisms of regulation of the tourist industry, the rule of effective use of tourist resources and sources of financing of tourist industry.

Chapter 1. General provisions

Article 1. Basic concepts

1.1. The basic concepts used in this Law designate the following:

1.1.1. tourism - temporary trip of physical persons out of limits of the country (place) of permanent residence for the purpose of rest, acquaintance with cultural, historical and natural heritage, improving, recovery and other purposes provided that they are not engaged in paid activities in the country (place) of departure;

1.1.2. the tourist - the physical person which is temporarily staying in the country (place) of travel in the tourist purposes for a period of up to 90 days;

1.1.3. tourist resources - set of cultural and historical and natural heritage of the country (place) of travel, the infrastructure facilities and other objects capable to meet demand and the needs of tourists;

1.1.4. tourist product - set of the tourist resources systematized on certain content according to focus of interest of tourists;

1.1.5. safety of tourists - protection of life and health, property of tourists, and also prevention of distribution of personal data about them;

1.1.6. state body on tourism - the body (structure) determined by relevant organ of the executive authority, realizing state policy and regulation in the field of tourism;
