About the prevention of spread of the disease caused by human immunodeficiency virus (AIDS)
Considering serious social and economic consequences of the disease accepting around the world pandemic nature and caused by human immunodeficiency virus, this Law creates legal guarantee for the prevention of its distribution in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic.
In this Law the basic concepts and their international abbreviation are used:
HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus) - human immunodeficiency virus;
AIDS (Acquit Immune Deficiency Syndrome) acquired immunodeficiency syndrome - the disease caused by the HIV virus;
HIV/AIDS is persons infected and patients with immunodeficiency virus;
The legislation of the Azerbaijan Republic on the prevention of distribution of AIDS includes this Law and other legal acts of the Azerbaijan Republic.
If in international treaties in which the Azerbaijan Republic participates the rules different from the rules provided by this Law are established rules of international treaties are applied.
This Law extends to citizens of the Azerbaijan Republic, foreigners and to stateless persons, and also on all legal entities irrespective of their form of business.
The state guarantees:
acceptance and implementation of the National Program of the prevention of distribution of AIDS in the territory of the Azerbaijan Republic;
