About introduction of amendments to some laws of Ukraine concerning provision of the additional guarantees of protection to media men working in areas of conducting military (fighting) operations and/or at temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decides:

1. Make changes to such laws of Ukraine:

1) in the Law of Ukraine "About the state support of mass media and social protection of journalists" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 1997, No. 50, Art. 302; 2014, No. 12, Art. 178; 2015, No. 29, Art. 264; 2020, No. 47, Art. 408):

add Article 15 with part seven of the following content:

"Mass media shall provide journalists and other workers for their business trip to areas of conducting military (fighting) operations and/or on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine with the means intended for protection against defeat by firearms, fragmental defeats and also medical first-aid kits. Journalists and other workers for their business trip to areas of conducting military (fighting) operations and/or on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine are subject to compulsory insurance at the expense of the employer or any other, not prohibited by the law sources on case of damnification of their life and/or to health in case of execution of professional obligations";

in part six of Article 18 of the word "in the amount up to" shall be replaced with words "in the amount of";

2) part one of article 7 of the Law of Ukraine "About insurance" (Sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, 2002, No. 7, of Art. 50 with subsequent changes) to add with Item 52 following of content:

"52) life insurance and health of journalists and other media men for their business trip to areas of conducting military (fighting) operations and/or on temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine".

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.
