In recent years in our country within policy of the social protection directed to eminence of human dignity consecutive reforms are performed.

During these reforms special attention is paid to enhancement of the pension system, regular increase in the sizes of pensions. In particular, for the purpose of elimination of excessive red tape for citizens, reduction of bureaucratic barriers, and also enhancement of the legislation determination of working life of citizens for the period till January 1, 2005 on the basis of the available employment records of person without reclamation of any supporting documents, appointment and pension payment and benefits at the request of the citizen in the place of permanent registration or the place of temporary stay, non-admission of check of the pensions granted counted in three years and earlier and also in case of pension accrual to women doubling of length of service during which they are on child care leave, that is from three to six years became important step in reforming of the pension system.

At the same time as priority task within the Strategy of development for New Uzbekistan enhancement of system of the state provision of pensions and ensuring consecutive increase in the sizes of pensions of citizens according to economic indicators of the country is determined.

This Law provides increase in the maximum size of the average monthly salary accepted for calculation of old-age pensions on disability and on the occasion of loss of the supporter, from calculation of pension, tenfold to the twelvefold size of basic size.

The new regulations offered by the law will serve further increase in material wealth of pensioners and strengthening of principles of social justice.
