This Law establishes the organizational and legal basis of security activities and governs the relations in the field of implementation of security activities.
In this Law the following main terms and their determinations are applied:
security activities - activities of state bodies and other organizations (further, unless otherwise specified, - the organizations) on protection of physical persons, protection of objects of legal entities and physical persons from illegal encroachments, including from illegal penetrations on them, and also designing, installation, adjustment and maintenance of means and systems of protection;
special body of protection - the structural division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs authorized by the President of the Republic of Belarus on implementation of functions in the field of security activities;
the protected objects - buildings, structures, constructions, sites of the area, vehicles, loads moved with transport, money, material values and other property of legal entities and physical persons;
protection of objects, physical persons - action for ensuring protection of the protected objects, physical persons from illegal encroachments;
means of protection - structurally complete, performing independent functions of the device, including the hardware-software, used for providing protection of the protected objects against illegal encroachments;
systems of protection - set jointly the operating means of protection established on the protected objects and the engineering networks and communications (systems of the alarming alarm system, transfer of notices, control and management of access, television systems of video surveillance and other systems) combined by system;
