About the status of the science city of the Russian Federation

For the purposes of this Federal Law the following basic concepts are used:
the science city of the Russian Federation (further - the science city) - the municipality with the status of the city district having high scientific and technical potential with city-forming scientific-industrial complex;
scientific-industrial complex of the science city - set of the organizations performing scientific, scientific and technical, innovative activities, experimental developments, testing, training according to the priority directions of scientific technology development;
science city infrastructure - set of the organizations which are providing life activity of the population of the science city and functioning of its scientific-industrial complex, but not entering this complex.
Legal regulation of the status of the science city is performed according to the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the Federal Laws on the general principles of the organization of local self-government, on science and the state scientific and technical policy, other Federal Laws, this Federal Law, constitutions, charters and the laws of subjects of the Russian Federation.
1. The municipality applying for assignment of the status of the science city or preserving such status shall have the scientific-industrial complex located in the territory of this municipality.
