The legislation of the Russian Federation on languages of the people of the Russian Federation is based on the Constitution of the Russian Federation, the conventional principles and rules of international law and international treaties of the Russian Federation and consists of this Law, the Federal Laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, and also the laws and other regulatory legal acts of subjects of the Russian Federation.
2. This Law covers the spheres of language communication which are subject to legal regulation and does not establish legal regulations of use of languages of the people of the Russian Federation in interpersonal unofficial relations, and also in activities of public and religious associations and the organizations.
