LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF BELARUS

About change of the Law of the Republic of Belarus "About nationality of the Republic of Belarus"

Accepted by the House of Representatives on December 14, 2022

Approved by Council of the Republic on December 21, 2022

Article 1. Bring in the Law of the Republic of Belarus of August 1, 2002 No. 136-Z "About nationality of the Republic of Belarus" the following changes:

1. The second articles 4 after words of "organization of the Republic of Belarus" to add part with words "(further - bodies of diplomatic service)".

2. State Article 8 in the following edition:

"Article 8. Citizens of the Republic of Belarus

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus are:

the faces consisting in nationality of the Republic of Belarus on the date of entry into force of this Law;

persons who acquired nationality of the Republic of Belarus according to this Law.

Citizens of the Republic of Belarus on the birth are recognized:

the persons who were born within the modern territory of the Republic of Belarus, being citizens of the former USSR on the birth and acquired nationality of the Republic of Belarus before entry into force of this Law;

persons which acquired nationality of the Republic of Belarus according to articles 9-12 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of October 18, 1991 No. 1181-XII "About nationality of the Republic of Belarus" or article 13 of this Law.".

3. Add Article 10 with words ", issued by competent authority of the Republic of Belarus".

4. State Article 11 in the following edition:

"Article 11. Non-recognition for the citizen of the Republic of Belarus belongings to nationality of foreign state

For person who is the citizen of the Republic of Belarus belonging to nationality of foreign state is not recognized if other is not provided by international treaties of the Republic of Belarus.
