About introduction of amendments to the Code of Ukraine about administrative offenses and the Criminal code of Ukraine concerning responsibility for violation of copyright and (or) the related rights

1. Make changes to the following legal acts of Ukraine:

1) in the Code of Ukraine about administrative offenses (The sheet of the Supreme Council of USSR, 1984, appendix to No. 51, the Art. 1122):

state Article 51-2 in the following edition:

"Article 51-2. Violation of the rights to object of intellectual property right

Illegal use of object of intellectual property right or other intentional violation of the rights to object of intellectual property right protected by the law -

involves imposing of penalty from fifty to three hundred free minima income of citizens with confiscation illegally of the made products and the equipment and materials intended for its production";

in the paragraph the second Item of 1 part one of article 255 of figure "164-15, 164-16" to replace with figures "164-15-164-18";

2) part one of article 176 of the Criminal code of Ukraine (2001, 131) to state sheets of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to Art. No. 25-26, in the following edition:

"1. Illegal reproduction, use and distribution of works of science, literature and art, computer programs and databases, other works, and also illegal reproduction, use and distribution of execution, soundtracks, videograms and programs of broadcasting, their illegal replication and distribution on audio - and videotapes, diskettes, other data carriers, kamkording, kardsheyring or other intentional copyright violation and the related rights, and also financing of such actions if it caused material damage in considerable size, -

are punished by penalty from three hundred to one thousand free minima of the income of citizens or corrective works for a period of up to two years, or imprisonment for the same term".

2. This Law becomes effective from the date of, its publication following behind day.
