About creation of Network of national contact Items in the field of the international legal assistance
For the purpose of enhancement of legal cooperation and establishment of direct contacts between the bodies responsible for rendering the international legal assistance and legal cooperation of the Republic of Moldova and member states of the European Union within the European legal network created by adoption of the Joint act N98/428/JHA by the Council of the European Union of June 29, 1998
The parliament accepts this resolution.
Art. 1. - The Network of national contact Items includes about two representatives of the Ministry of Justice and the Prosecutor General's Office as the central bodies responsible for rendering the international legal assistance, and also the Central national bureau of the Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Art. 2. - Contact Items perform the following functions:
a) active mediation for the purpose of assistance to cooperation in the field of the international legal assistance of the Republic of Moldova and member states of the European Union;
b) provision of the legal and practical information necessary for both national territorial authorities, and contact Items of other states for creation of the order on rendering the international legal assistance;
c) improvement of coordination of legal cooperation if several orders constituted by territorial authorities of one state require coordinated actions in the territory of other state.
Art. 3. - Contact Items perform the functions by means of establishment of the corresponding bonds with contact Items of member states of the European Union, the organizations and participations in meetings of contact Items, and also provisions of the updated information specified in Articles 4 and 5.
