Memory is subject to perpetuating:

the dead during military operations, in case of accomplishment of other fighting tasks or in case of accomplishment of service duties on protection of the Fatherland;

died of the wounds, contusions, mutilations or diseases got in case of protection of the Fatherland, irrespective of time of approach of the specified effects, and also missing persons during military operations, in case of accomplishment of other fighting tasks or in case of accomplishment of service duties;

the dead who died in captivity in which appeared owing to the developed fighting situation, but not lost the honor and advantage which did not change to the Homeland.

Besides, memory of the associations, connections and organizations which caused a stir in case of protection of the Fatherland is immortalized and also the places of fighting which became history as symbols of heroism, courage and firmness of the people of our Fatherland are immortalized.

Article 2. Forms of perpetuating of memory of the dead in case of protection of the Fatherland

The main forms of perpetuating of memory of the dead in case of protection of the Fatherland are:

burial and reburial of remains of the dead in case of protection of the Fatherland, preserving and improvement of military burials, creation, preserving and improvement of other places of burial of the dead in case of protection of the Fatherland, installation of the gravestones, monuments, steles, obelisks, other memorial constructions and objects immortalizing memory of the dead;
