This Federal Law establishes the legal basis of carrying out land management for the purpose of ensuring rational use of lands and their protection, creation of the favorable environment and improvement of landscapes.
For the purpose of this Federal Law the following basic concepts are used:
land management - actions for studying of condition of lands, planning and the organization of rational use of lands and their protection, the description of location and (or) establishment on the area of borders of objects of land management, the organization of rational use by citizens and legal entities of the parcels of land for implementation of agricultural production, and also on the organization of the territories used by communities of indigenous ethnic groups of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation and persons belonging to indigenous ethnic groups of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation for providing their traditional conduct of life (intraeconomic land management);
objects of land management - the territory of subjects of the Russian Federation, the territory of municipalities, and also part of such territories;
land management documentation - the documents received as a result of carrying out land management.
Legal regulation of the relations when carrying out land management is performed by this Federal Law, other Federal Laws and other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, and also the laws and other regulatory legal acts of subjects of the Russian Federation.
